Joy of Missing Out

Featured in Community

My WIN client referred to it as JOMO, or the Joy Of Missing Out, when she described how she felt saying “no” to a potential new role in her company that simply wasn’t good enough for her.

And that description made so much sense to me. There’s definitely a joy connected to saying “no”, let me tell you.

There is of course the general thrill / power trip that comes from being the dumpor, rather than the dumpee, so to speak. For you to make the decision, rather than the other side.

But from my experience, there is more to it.

There is a veritable euphoria that comes from knowing you are worthy.

There is deep pleasure in truly #takingyourselfseriously and honouring the part of you that knows that you deserve better.

From saying NO to something that doesn’t serve you… and thus saying YES to YOU.

Man, saying no can be the greatest joy on earth – my client was right!

Of course, you need to be in a position to do so. To ensure that you will be, watch my seminar on the 5 Simple Mindset Shifts Smart Career Women Use To Negotiate Promotions and Salary Raises via the link in the comments, or ping me a quick message.
